Brian Widegren has been an attorney for 42 years. He was a partner in a small firm in Boston for 10 years and in 1992 he opened his office in Harwich. His areas of concentration are Bankruptcy, Divorce and Family Law, Civil Litigation, Personal Injury, Estate Planning and Probate of Estates.
Attorney Widegren is licensed to practice in all Massachusetts Courts, in the United States District Court and the United States Bankruptcy Court. He has many years of experience in all types of litigation in the trial courts and the appellate courts.
He has always believed that it is important to involve his clients in their legal matters as much as possible, by explaining the relevant legal issues in detail and by allowing them to have as much of a role in the legal process as they choose. A well informed and involved client will be better able to make the important decisions that are necessary to bring their matter to a successful result. He has also found that by offering clients the opportunity to be directly involved in the process, they are able to realize significant cost savings.
Involvement in his community has also been important to Attorney Widegren. He served on the Harwich Finance Committee for 10 years and on the Monomoy Regional School Committee for 7 years. He coached soccer, baseball, and basketball for the Harwich Youth and Recreation Committee and was a coach and President of Harwich Little League. He served on the Executive Committee of the Barnstable County Bar Association for six years and, as he has done for many years, is presently providing legal advice to the public through the Barnstable County Probate and Family Court Lawyer of the Day program and WE CAN of Harwich Port.
